How to Apply Geomembrane to Fly Ash Plant Landfill Project?

Domestic waste incineration power generation has the advantages of significant reduction, less land resource occupation, and energy conversion, and has become the mainstream way of domestic waste treatment in my country. With the rapid increase in the amount of domestic waste incineration, the amount of waste incineration fly ash is also increasing. At present, after all, domestic waste in Shijiazhuang City is burned, about 400 tons of fly ash will be produced every day. According to relevant regulations, waste incineration fly ash needs to be disposed of. Safe and effective disposal has become the “last mile” problem after the “garbage siege”.
The reporter learned from the Environmental Sanitation Affairs Center that, to solve the problem of waste incineration and fly ash disposal, the Municipal Urban Management Bureau and the Municipal Environmental Sanitation Affairs Center coordinated and cooperated with the city and county. Responsible for construction, using the current domestic fly ash main solidification and stabilization landfill treatment technology, the project approval was completed in only more than one year, and the project construction was completed in more than half a year. It will be put into operation at the end of June 2021.

Fly Ash Plant Landfill

On August 26, the reporter came to the site of the stabilized fly ash landfill project. It can be seen that the surface of the huge abandoned mine pit is covered with a layer of professional film. On the west side of the bottom of the mine, some white packaging bags to be processed are stacked. It was fly ash that was dressed up, and workers and excavators were working. According to the staff, this project is the first specialized landfill for the single treatment of stabilized fly ash, with a total land area of 62,130.19 square meters. The fly ash landfill area covers an area of 41704.25 square meters and the effective storage capacity of the fly ash landfill area is 820,000 cubic meters. , The service period can reach 6-8 years. The project site selection is standardized and has a significant neighboring effect. It is next to the provincial highway S307 and has convenient transportation. At the same time, the project uses abandoned mines to build valley-type landfills according to the situation, through the use and management of abandoned mines, plus greening The supporting investment in the project has given Green Mountain a new lease of life.
“The fly ash delivered from the three domestic waste incineration power plants that have been in operation in the city will go through procedures such as pump weighing, laboratory admission, unloading and compaction, and film covering. The finished products are landfilled layer by layer. Now every day The fly ash processing capacity can reach 300-400 tons. At the same time, the project is also equipped with a landfill anti-seepage and pollution prevention project and a high-standard laboratory. In the future, it can also meet the fly ash processing needs of other new power plants in the city.”

The deputy director of the Municipal Environmental Sanitation Affairs Center stated that the construction of the project has received strong support from the city and county functional departments at all levels. Since it was put into operation, it has adhered to management standards and standardized operations. It has now disposed of more than 10,000 tons of stabilized fly ash in the city. The problem of stabilizing fly ash in the municipal solid waste incineration power plants has been solved, and the closed-loop management of solid waste disposal has been realized.
The general characteristics of geomembrane include physical function, mechanical function, chemical function, thermal function, and durability function. Geomembrane pays more attention to its waterproof (anti-seepage) function, anti-deformation ability, and durability function in engineering applications. Many engineering practices have proved that geomembrane has good impermeability. It has good elastic strain capacity, can withstand different construction conditions and working stress; geomembrane has good anti-aging performance, and has outstanding durability in water and soil.
Geomembrane is a geomembrane-like geotechnical material with low permeability used in civil engineering. Geomembrane: Geomembrane is a geomembrane-like geotechnical material with very low permeability used in civil engineering. Geomembrane is generally divided into asphalt geomembrane and polymer (constituting polymer) geomembrane. To adapt to the different strength and deformation requirements in various civil engineering applications.

The geomembrane is a geomembrane made of plastic film as an impermeable base material, combined with a non-woven fabric. The impermeability of the new material geomembrane depends on the impermeability of the plastic film. Plastic films for anti-seepage applications at home and abroad include high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polyethylene (PE). They are a kind of polymer chemical flexible material with a small specific gravity, strong extensibility, high adaptability to deformation, and high resistance to deformation. Corrosion, low-temperature resistance, good frost resistance.
Generally, 1.5mm double-rough surface geomembrane or column point geomembrane will be used on the slopes of general waste landfills, which can increase the friction coefficient of the geomembrane and make it fit. The bottom will use a 1.5mm double-gloss geomembrane for anti-seepage treatment, and the top cover will generally use a 1.0mm double-gloss geomembrane to close the site. This choice can not only meet the design requirements but also save the cost to a certain extent
In construction, a dual-track automatic crawling welder is generally used for hot-melt welding. This construction method is both firm and beautiful and has become the main plan for geomembrane construction.
Construction steps for laying HDPE geomembrane in fly ash landfill:
After the waste site foundation treatment, the operation steps from bottom to top are the compactness of the clay compacted layer above 90 (water barrier) → laying 2.0mm HDPE geomembrane → compacted loess → 1.5mm HDPE geomembrane → backfilling fine soil → Lay 600g filament geotextile.
Function and purpose
HDPE smooth geomembrane is used in landfills, sewage and waste liquid treatment, toxic and hazardous substance treatment plants, biogas digesters, aquaculture, water conservancy, municipal engineering, gardens, petrochemicals, agriculture, transportation, high-speed rail, tunnels, airports, buildings Anti-leakage liner work for objects, landscapes, etc.
