We are the last defense for environment protection

How deep should a root barrier be?

HDPE geomembrane has very strong puncture resistance and can resist the puncture of most plant roots. The root blocking layer is to prevent the plant roots from growing down and destroying an interlayer, which solves the problem of puncture resistance of plant roots in many engineering constructions.

The geomembrane has the dual functions of waterproofing and preventing plant roots from penetrating. It can withstand the puncture of plant roots and maintain the waterproof function for a long time. Prevent plant roots from penetrating the structural layer and causing more serious structural damage. It can form a high-strength waterproof layer, has a strong resistance to pressure water, and is resistant to puncture, cracking, tearing, and fatigue. High tensile strength, strong adaptability to shrinkage, and cracking of the base layer. Good heat resistance and cold resistance, its use environment temperature is high temperature 110℃, low temperature -70℃, hot-melt construction, convenient construction, and reliable and durable hot joints.

Rott Barrier

The root structure of different plants is different, so the depth of the geomembrane used is also different. Current information is that root barriers need to be installed to a depth of 30 inches minimum and they must extend above the surface of the soil enough to prevent roots from growing over the top (figure 2). Hanging Garden places special emphasis on a root-blocking composite geomembrane waterproofing system. This system can prevent plant roots from penetrating the roof and at the same time play a waterproof function. . The roof greening is also very particular about how thick soil is used. If the soil layer is too thin, it is easy to dry, which is detrimental to the growth and development of plants. If the soil layer is thicker, it satisfies the growth of plants, but the roof cannot withstand it. Considering the long-term effect, the soil layer of turf green land should be more than 15 cm. If trees are planted as a sky garden, the soil layer should be 40-50 cm, and sometimes even 70 cm.

When laying a geomembrane, the base surface must maintain a certain degree of cleanliness, which is a powerful component to improve the level of seepage prevention. At the same time, some impurities on the base surface, such as stones, weeds, etc., must be cleaned before construction can be carried out; when laying, it is forbidden to walk machinery on the geomembrane. Laying personnel must wear flat shoes to walk on the geomembrane. Also, the base surface must be smooth and flat to avoid unevenness. And for the cleaned base surface, it is necessary to do a certain amount of protection work, for a part of the sunken area, it is necessary to take a certain method to do the leveling work so that it is conducive to the later construction.

The cleanliness of the base surface is up to the standard, then the geomembrane will become faster and better during the later construction; it can prevent some impurities, which may cause problems such as excessive gaps and so on. The level of seepage prevention The declining situation appeared, and the problem about the improvement of the anti-seepage system was solved very well. Thus, the cleaning of the base surface of the geomembrane is very important, and it cannot be ignored in any project. Only in this way can the service life of the geomembrane be improved.
